Merry Christmas!

We spent Christmas morning at Grandma and Grandpa Bests and then we drove to Idaho to spend Christmas at the cabin with the Brown's. The kids had a great time sledding, playing with cousins and keeping the adults awake all night!

Countdown to Christmas!

We took the girls to South Towne Mall to see the "real" Santa on Saturday. The 30 minute wait in line was highly entertaining as moms shoved screaming children onto Santa's lap and then the photographers pulled out every prop trying to make it look like the kids actually wanted to be there! The girls are old enough now that they were actually excited to see Santa, so we got to watch and enjoy all of the other parents wrestling their crying babies all in the hopes of capturing that perfect picture with Santa!

Happy Anniversary!

John and I celebrated our first anniversary this weekend. We decided to take turns planning our anniversaries, and John wanted to go first. He did a great job pulling off a romantic weekend full of surprises! We ate dinner on Friday night at Flemmings at the Gateway (a definite restaurant to try, if you haven't already), then we spent the night at The Grand America. John reserved a romantic suite on the 24th (top) floor of the hotel with an incredible view of the city. John spoiled me on Saturday with a day of pampering at the spa. I got my hair done, had a massage, a pedicure and a facial. Eight hours of relaxation! I won't get all mushy, but I do have to say that John is the perfect person for me to spend this life and eternity with. He is the perfect balance for me, and as he says, he is my fun! I love you babe!

Thriller!!!

We took a quick trip to St. George last weekend with the fam to see Thriller at Tuachan. I've seen Thriller a couple of times in Salt Lake, but it was even better outside in the canyons. I've said it a million times before, but I could definitely live in sunny St. George!

Fall Break

The girls were out of school last week for fall break, so we took a family vacation to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. I thought it would be a tiny town in the middle of nowhere, but it ended up being the perfect place for a family vacation. We were on the go from the time we got there until the time we left. We spent a couple of days at Dollywood (Dolly Pardon's theme park), we went to the Dixie Stampede, we toured Ripley's Believe it or not Museum and Aquarium, and we hiked in the Smoky Mountains. They also had some great outlet malls, so we had to go shopping! We were also lucky enough to be able to go and see John's sister Susan and her friend Danelle perfom. They did a great job, as always! We had a great time and were sad to leave.
