My birthday was last week and as usual, it was my birth week that was celebrated! I had lots of dear friends who called, texted, took me to lunch and to dinner and even one who made me an amazing and delicious carmel apple cheesecake. This next week I will be spending more time at the gym and less time eating out, but it was fun while it lasted! I should have taken more pictures, but I did get a few. Friday night, we went to dinner at Bonsai with some of my good friends and my sisters. We had some good entertainment and I'm not talking about our chef, but the people we were with:) Trevor really enjoyed singing happy birthday to me! I am so lucky to have so many great friends who live so close to me. I wasn't at the time, but I'm glad now that our house didn't sell because I wouldn't have these amazing friends! Heather, Jenny, me and Justi The whole gang! My mom had my family over on Sunday for dinner and gingerbread cake. This little guy is the best present I could ever ask for, even if he does look really mad in this picture! Thank you to all of my friends and family who made my special day so special!
We all ended up with a nasty stomach bug over Thanksgiving weekend. Since we were stuck at home, we pulled out the Christmas decorations and put up the tree. It was a nice distraction from the vomiting and other bodily fluids that we won't mention here. Yep, my kids are in their jammies and stayed in them all weekend! So glad to be back among the living!!! Christmas with a toddler...Blake thinks all of the ornaments are balls and therefore must be thrown...The stockings have been removed from the fireplace because Blake likes to pull on them and I don't want him getting a concussion from our stocking holders....Presents under the tree...not happening this year, he has mastered wrapping paper and thinks it's great fun to unwrap presents! Maybe next year, but in the meantime, I'm loving watching him enjoy Christmas!
The girls have been off track for the past 3 weeks and we tried to pack in as much entertainment as possible while they were out of school! Our first adventure was to Hogle Zoo Blake wanted to push the stroller, not ride in it, so I only got a few pictures since most of my time was spent chasing him around the zoo:) Kaitlyn and Kensie played on the same soccer team this year. Their season was really short and most of their games took place while they were out of school. They had a lot of fun playing, but were bummed that they didn't win...UNTIL the very last game. They won 3-1! They were so excited! You should have heard all the parents cheering. I'm sure the other team was wondering why we were so excited! We went to Discovery Gateway for playgroup. The girls have been there before, but this was my first experience and it was a blast! Blake loved playing in the water and the girls loved using their imaginations with all the props! We will definitey go back there soon! We took a trip to the pumpkin patch Blake loved pushing this little wheelbarrow around He did not, however, like being pushed IN the wheelbarrow! Searching for the perfect pumpkin...
Found it! We spent a day at Cherry Hill aka "Scary Hill" The kids loved playing Monster Mini golf with their cousins The balloon hats were a hit! We found Blake's tombstone! These are for John...Blake already loves to golf!
Our last adventure was to Hee Haw Farms!
It was torture for me to go INTO the petting zoo and it was torture getting Kensie OUT of the petting zoo:) We went on a trick-or-treat hayride. It was the last one of the day, so they picked all the "characters" up on the way back and we got to ride with them! They even let these characters hitch a ride! The slides were a hit and they were much safer than the last time we were there...funny story for another day;) Riding the tractor swings
I love the fall weather it was fun having the girls out of school so we could play before it gets cold and we're stuck inside for the winter...9 more weeks girls and we'll do it again!!!
