Fall Fun

October is one of my favorite months of the year. We have been busy enjoying all of the fun fall activities and the fabulous fall weather.
We took a trip to Sun Valley a couple weeks ago. John's family has a condo up there and it is one of our favorite vacation spots. While we were up there, we took a little drive to Red Fish lake. It is a beautiful lake in the middle of the mountains with white sandy beaches and clear water. It kind of reminds me of Lake Tahoe. Blake loved running along the beach and throwing rocks into the water with daddy.

We took a trip to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins. Blake was so funny, he would run over to a pumpkin, try to pick it up, then say "too heavy" and move on to the next one and repeat "too heavy." Love that boy!

We couldn't miss seeing the witches at Gardner Village. Blake loved them! So cute, as always! I can't wait for the Elves to arrive:)

Speaking of Gardner Village...Witchapalooza has become a yearly tradition for us. Such a fun girls night out and great excuse to dress up like witches:)Cute, new show this year too!

The gym that we go to has a fun Halloween party every year. This year's theme was "Harry Potter" and the highlight of the party was the train ride. Blake is slightly obsessed with trains so he loved being able to ride on the train!

Can't wait for Halloween tomorrow!!!

Rev your Engines!

Our little guy turned 2 years old this week! Bittersweet day for mom. Wish he wasn't growing up so fast, but love to watch him learn and experience new things! To celebrate his big day, we had a race car birthday party.

Everyone was given a pinewood derby car with their invitation and had to build and decorate their car. Wow...this was a bigger deal than I thought! We got to see the competitive sides of a few people, which made it even more fun! Prizes were given for the best paint job, the best theme, most creative and best design/crowd favorite.
The "Race Cars"

The big race!

Intense crowd!

It was a tight race-we even had a tie for second place and had to race again
I'm kind of embarrassed, but John is really proud...Blake's car took first place...I promise we won fair and square!

Present Time!

I really wanted Blake to be excited about blowing out his candles, so for the past couple weeks, we would practice. I would sing Happy Birthday over and over again and at the end he would blow out a fake candle. I thought for sure he would be ready for the big day. Turns out we should have practiced with real candles and a real flame. He was terrified of the candles!
Luckily, soon-to-be uncle Trevor was there to help him blow out the candles.

Whenever we go to the golf course, Blake runs to the golf carts and wants to drive. He can't see over the steering wheel so he just holds on and hits the gas...kind of scary! When we saw this, we knew he had to have it and to say he loves it is and understatement! We even have to say goodnight to the golf cart before going to bed...(sigh!)
