Miss America

My friend, Justi, is on the board for the Miss Utah Organization, so every January she and her board head to Vegas to attend the Miss America Pageant. This year, I got to tag along and wow...I learned a lot in "pageant land" and had a LOT of fun!!!
One of Justi's assignments was to help Christina prepare for the interview portion of the competition. Here's Justi waiting in line to talk with Christina Lowe, Miss Utah 2010.

Cheering on Miss Utah

We got caught up in the spirit of "pageant land" and spent a day getting our eyebrows threaded (that's a post all in itself!), we got pedicures and makeovers at the Mac makeup store.
My scary blue eyes and our new friend Ro

We thought it would be fun to invite these 2 guys to come down for the weekend...what were we thinking??? Kidding!

"Show me your Shoes" parade. All of the contestants dress up in something representing their state and parade around to show off their costumes and shoes. Christina was a giant snowflake and looked darling, although I can't find any pictures of her. Everyone from Utah dressed up with snow attire to support her.

We spent most of one day touring Vegas. This is the pool at the new Cosmopolitan hotel at City Center. The pool was awesome and you can swim there for free until March, if anyone's headed to Vegas!

The last night of competition

Christina made it to the top 11! She did an amazing job all week!

John was so bugged that I wanted to get our pictures taken in front of the Vegas sign since we go to Vegas all the time, but we'd never done it before and now I've got pictures by the Vegas sign just like all the other tourists!

Thanks to the Lundebergs for such a fun trip and lots of good memories!
